Refund & Cancellation Policy
The LexThink service is provided by LexThink Ltd (company number 15049862, registered office 16 Basford Road, Manchester, M16 0GE). This policy explains your cancellation rights and how refunds work for the LexThink SQE1 question bank ("the Service"). It sits alongside our Terms of Service.
1. The short version
The Service is digital content supplied immediately. At checkout you ask us to give you access straight away and you agree that, by doing so, you give up the 14-day "cooling-off" right you'd otherwise have. So once your access has been granted, your purchase is non-refundable — except where the Service is faulty or the law requires a refund.
2. Your 14-day right, and why it doesn't apply here
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content, that right is lost if you have consented to the content being supplied immediately and acknowledged that you'll lose the right — which is exactly what you confirm with the tick-box at checkout:
"I want immediate access now and I understand that by starting I lose my 14-day right to cancel and get a refund."
We grant your access immediately after payment, so from that point the 14-day right no longer applies and the purchase is non-refundable. We send you a written confirmation (your order receipt) as a durable record, as the Regulations require.
3. When we will still give a refund
We'll provide a repair, replacement or refund where your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply — for example if the Service is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality and we can't put it right. Specifically, we'll consider a refund if:
- a technical problem on our side prevents you accessing the bank and we can't fix it within a reasonable time; or
- you were charged in error (e.g. a duplicate charge); or
- a refund is otherwise required by law.
This doesn't cover simply changing your mind after you've been given access, or not using the access you bought.
4. One-to-one (1:1) sessions
If your plan includes 1:1 time, you book and manage it through our scheduling provider. You can reschedule or cancel a booked session with reasonable notice (please give at least 24 hours) and rebook within your access window. Missed sessions without notice, or requests outside your access window, can't normally be refunded or carried over.
5. How to ask for a refund
Email privacy@lexthink.co.uk with the email on your account, your order date and plan, and a short description of the problem. We aim to respond within 5 working days. Approved refunds go to your original payment method, normally within 14 days.
6. Chargebacks
If something's gone wrong, please contact us first — we can usually sort it faster than your bank. Raising a chargeback without contacting us may lead us to suspend the account while the dispute is investigated.
