Terms of Service

Effective 30 June 2026 · Last updated 30 June 2026

1. About us and these terms

LexThink Ltd is a company registered in England & Wales (company number 15049862), registered office 16 Basford Road, Manchester, M16 0GE ("we", "us", "our"). These terms govern your use of the LexThink website and SQE1 Dispute Resolution question bank ("the Service"). By creating an account or buying a plan, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, which form part of these terms.

2. Who can use the Service

You must be 18 or over and able to enter into a contract. The Service is intended for individuals preparing for the SRA's Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE1).

3. Your account

You sign in through our authentication provider. Keep your login details secure and don't share them. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at privacy@lexthink.co.uk if you think it's been used without your permission.

4. What you get

The Service is a Dispute Resolution question bank for the SQE1, with explanations, authorities, distractor analysis, practice and timed "mock" blocks, and a qualitative readiness signal. We offer a free taster of a few questions, and paid plans (currently Core, Guided and Mentored) which differ in the number of questions and whether they include one-to-one ("1:1") time with our solicitor. The specific contents and price of each plan are shown at checkout. Paid access runs for a fixed access window from the date of purchase (shown at checkout); 1:1 time, where included, is booked within that window. We may add, change or remove questions and features to keep the bank accurate and useful.

5. Price and payment

Prices are shown at checkout in GBP. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added. Payment is taken by our payment provider; we don't see or store your card details. Your access is granted once payment is confirmed.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Because the Service is digital content supplied immediately, you are asked at checkout to consent to immediate access and to acknowledge that, by starting, you give up your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Once your access has been granted, the purchase is non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise or the Service is faulty. Full details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Acceptable use

The Service is licensed to you for your own personal exam preparation. You must not:

  • share, sell, sub-licence or give others access to your account or the questions;
  • copy, scrape, republish, or create derivative works from the questions, explanations or other content;
  • use automated means to extract content, or attempt to circumvent access controls, rate limits or security;
  • use the Service unlawfully or in a way that harms us or other users.

We use technical measures to detect misuse and may suspend accounts that breach this section.

8. Intellectual property

All content in the Service — questions, explanations, structure and branding — is owned by or licensed to LexThink Ltd and protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the content for your own SQE1 preparation during your access window. No other rights are granted.

9. Important disclaimers

  • Independent study aid. LexThink is an independent SQE1 study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, accredited or approved by the SRA or Kaplan.
  • Not a guarantee. The Service is a study aid, not a guarantee of any exam result. Your readiness signal is a study tool, not a prediction of whether you will pass.
  • Not legal advice. The content is for exam preparation only and is not legal advice. We take care to keep it accurate and current, but the law changes and we don't warrant that every item is error-free at all times.

10. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance and may change or withdraw features. We're not liable for downtime outside our reasonable control.

11. Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that: we are not liable for your exam results or decisions you make based on the Service; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, opportunity or goodwill; and our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it. Nothing in these terms affects your non-excludable statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms (for example, the acceptable-use section). If we end your access for a serious breach, you won't be entitled to a refund. You can stop using the Service at any time.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post the updated version with a new "last updated" date and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
